Fail To Prepare, Prepare To Fail

I love to plan. I love to organise. I can't help it, I'm a Virgo. My dad lives by the 6 P's.
'Proper Planning Prevents P*ss Poor Performance'.

Ever since I knew I could go abroad in my third year at Uni, I've been planning - making endless lists, Pinterest boards and searching the web for tips and tricks.
If you can't already tell from the background, I'm off to MILAN. Yes, Milan. One of the major fashion capitals. I've never been to Milan. I was meant to visit back in 2013 with a few friends during a trip to Venice, but after a nightmare day of being robbed and suffering severe sunstroke the day before, we decided against it. I don't know why my mum was so worried about us...

Anyway, I've been looking at pictures of the Duomo as well as trying to figure out what I should wear (it is Milan after all, darling) but I've also been doing the 'important' things i.e. trying to get my Codice Fiscale sorted (National Insurance Number in the UK or Social Security Number in the US), picking my courses and desperately trying to find somewhere to live, which is proving to be the most difficult aspect. I'm not picky... just selective. When it comes to bags and jewellery, I have expensive taste, but I never knew that would radiate across into my taste for apartments. Lord help me (and my overdraft).
I've found a couple of places that I would deem acceptable - in other words, no ant infested kitchens a la Cuba 2009 - but they are at the pricier end of my budget. My parents don't help either, dad's all 'the living area's nice but the room's a bit bland', to which I agree with until mum pipes up 'but look at the entrance way, it's gorgeous. Go for it!'. HELP.

The other day I got round to making my course selections (a mixture of finance and business) and I'm rather happy with them. At the minute anyway. I'm hoping I'm not going to be in for a horrible surprise when I get there. Currently, I'm up to date with all the admin tasks I needed to do for both my home Uni and my new host Uni in Milan. So last on my list at the minute is to sort of applying for my Codice Fiscale.

You need a Codice Fiscale to be identified as residing in Italy, regardless of whether you're a national or a student moving over for 10 months i.e. ME. From what I've found research wise, I can send an application to the Italian Embassy in London along with a utility bill and copy of my passport and receive my Codice Fiscale before I even board the plane. I'm still yet to do that. As much as I love to plan, I also love to procrastinate. Well, that's a paradox.

So, while I procrastinate for a little longer and try and satisfy my expensive taste with something a little more budget friendly, I'll leave you with this. Is it possible to be an avid planner yet experienced procrastinator all at the same time? Let me know!

Also, if you've got any tips or words of wisdom for setting off into the big wide world, let me know in the comments below!
